LodX Digital Logistics Platform
FOR AGENCY: RAD-CUBE X ARTISTRY STUDIOS

PROJECT OVERVIEW
LodX is a digital logistics platform (Start-Up designed to address challenges within the trucking and freight industry, primarily focusing on improving efficiency for independent carriers and small fleets. The platform reimagines how carriers book loads, conduct en-route trailer exchanges, and process payments. LodX’s key mission is to provide flexible loads and smarter delivery solutions, ultimately transforming logistics operations by enabling faster, safer, and more convenient hauling for carriers.

THE PROBLEM
The trucking industry faces numerous issues, including a shortage of carriers, increased regulatory pressures, and the inefficiencies of traditional load boards. Independent carriers struggle with limited support, underutilized trailers, and extensive time away from family due to extended hauls. LodX aims to reduce these inefficiencies by implementing features that help carriers make the most of their time on the road while ensuring they comply with new electronic logging device (ELD) mandates that restrict driving hours.

THE SOLUTIONS: LodX Platform
We designed LodX with unique (never seen before in the industry) features that address the specific needs of both carriers and customers. Innovations include:

-
Load-X-Change: A proprietary trailer swap feature that allows carriers to exchange loads en route, reducing deadhead trips and enabling carriers to return home sooner.
-
Flexible Haul Schedules: Carriers can schedule hauls in advance or in real-time, allowing for greater flexibility and efficient route planning.
-
Increased ELD Compliance: The app helps carriers remain compliant with ELD mandates while maximizing productivity.
-
Enhanced Payment System: With the integrated LodX Wallet, carriers are paid faster, further supporting driver retention and satisfaction.
-
Real-Time Tracking: Customers can track their loads using geo-tracking technology, allowing for transparency and peace of mind.
-
On-Demand Support: The platform offers a 24/7 support call center to assist with any logistics or technical issues.
Reduced Costs and Detention: LodX’s swap feature and smart scheduling options help reduce deadhead miles and detention times, making it cost-effective for shippers.

PRODUCT ROADMAPPING & DELIVERABLES:
As design director and team product manager, my responsibilities included:
-
Design Strategy and Vision: Established the overall design vision for LodX, aligning it with the platform's business goals and user needs. Ensured that every design decision reflected the brand’s mission to simplify logistics for independent carriers. If you’re a business, talk about how you started and share your professional journey. Explain your core values, your commitment to customers and how you stand out from the crowd. Add a photo, gallery or video for even more engagement.
-
Product Development Leadership: Led cross-functional teams (design, engineering, and product management) through each phase of development. Oversaw the MVP launch and provided strategic input on feature prioritization, design requirements, and deadlines.
-
User Research and Testing: Directed user research initiatives, gathering insights on carrier and shipper needs. Conducted usability testing sessions to validate design prototypes, and applied feedback to improve overall user experience.
-
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Acted as the bridge between design, development, and marketing, ensuring alignment on design goals and seamless integration of design deliverables within the product roadmap.
-
Quality Assurance and Iteration: Reviewed and refined designs through rigorous testing and user feedback cycles, ensuring a polished, intuitive user experience. Managed ongoing design adjustments post-launch based on performance metrics and user insights.
-
Stakeholder Communication: Presented design concepts and project progress to stakeholders, articulating design rationale and showcasing how each deliverable aligned with LodX’s business objectives.

FINAL DELIVERABLES INCLUDED:
-
Persona Development: Created detailed personas for both carrier and shipper segments, based on user research to capture their goals, pain points, and behaviors, guiding design decisions and user flow structures.
-
Wireframing: Developed low-fidelity wireframes to outline initial layouts and structural hierarchy, iterating based on stakeholder feedback before moving to high-fidelity designs.
-
User Flows: Designed comprehensive user flow diagrams to illustrate each step in the user journey, including load booking, trailer exchanges, and customer support interactions, ensuring smooth navigation and intuitive paths for all users.
-
User Interface (UI) Design: High-fidelity mockups for the LodX mobile and web applications, crafted to optimize usability and visual appeal for both carrier and shipper experiences.
-
User Experience (UX) Flow Diagrams: Detailed UX journey maps for carrier and shipper journeys, covering key interactions like onboarding, scheduling, trailer swaps, and payment processes.
-
